About LiveJournal in the Spring 2007

Previous Entry LiveJournal in the Spring 2007 Jul. 31st, 2007 @ 06:11 pm Next Entry
Welcome back everyone to another season of LiveJournal... this time with a difference, more structure, less stress, but still all the possibilities of creative innovation at your fingertips. I am looking forward to seeing how you handle the questions you have been given and how you interact with each other. Please send me your URLs (through WebCT) asap so that you can be included in the list which will be posted up by Friday 5pm.....
Spring is definitely in the air around where I live. Out bushwalking this weekend I saw the first crop of glorious Sydney Boronias... a sure herald of warmer days ahead of us...

Hello Michael.

I'm really sorry for this, but I also can not get my Web CT working properly. Also, I' am new to Live Journal and am a bit confused as to what to what I' am writing about. Again, I am truly sorry for any inconvenience.

Please send your LiveJournal URL to me in the WebCT Mail box... and especially give me your name... I don't know who you are!!
Michael
Your URL should look something like this:

http://michaela.livejournal.com

but if you prefer to be just a number that is fine too: then

http://0001230185288.livejournal.com

but I do need to know who you are to add you to the list: in WebCT mail please!!!!

My URL

Michael,

I am genuinely sorry for my tardiness with sending you my URL for this semester, my internet has been down all weekend and when I finally was able to get it running I had some difficulties with my Webct emailing. As Rebeccas was hoping, I also hope that this will be an adeqaute way of sending you my LiveJournal URL. It is the same as last semester: http://theresaf.livejournal.com/.

Thanks,
Theresa :)

Aus Lit

Hey MG

I found part of that News feed about Australian Lit I was telling you about, but I couldn’t find the section on the Literary crisis moratorium held in Canberra.

http://abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/08/07/1998661.htm?section=justin

its insane that we don't teach our national literature at a tertiary level, I didn't know how bad it was. We are right on the brink of being one of – if not the only – nation on earth that doesn’t teach its own literature in its own universities.

How did this happen? Is it because of the lack of university funding and the influx of fee paying foreign students, or do you think it's more of a cultural issue? Is it because Universities just don’t push it in the wake of the pragmatic shift towards being more business and career orientated? I mean how do we end up with a Higher Education system that teaches all forms of foreign literature except its own?

Hi MG,

just wanted to thank you for screening the movie Apocalypse Now for us this afternoon. also wanted to apologise for having to leave a little early - i have a 4pm Business Management Tutorial at the North Syd campus and had to give myself the half hour to get there. but i will borrow the dvd from the video shop and finish it off.

enjoying literature (as always),

Roselie
